Kashmir Singh, a teacher of Government Senior Secondary School, Gumanpura, has penned a song ‘Bachheo hun ta parna hi paina, mehnat da palla farna hi paina’ (Kids, you have to focus on academics and resort to hard work) for students of Class X and XII. The song aims at encouraging the students to begin preparations wholeheartedly for the annual examination of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).
School Education Minister OP Soni, Education Secretary Krishan Kumar, along with other officials, released the song at a function in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
A four-minute anti-copying song motivates students to prepare well and refrain from cheating. Hindi teacher Kashmir Singh said, “I wanted to use my talent for my department. After writing the song, I contacted higher officials. The Education Secretary’s efforts to stop cheating have inspired me.”
Kashmir is not only the lyricist but singer too. He has been running an anti-cheating drive. A few years ago Kashmir got a state award for his efforts to stop copying in the examinations.
The department is coming up with Kashmir’s video song on anti-copying. The teacher is working on another song for the enrollment of students in government schools.
