A telefilm awards function dedicated to Hindi superstar Rajesh Khana was organised at Guru Nanak Bhawan, City Centre, by Rajesh Khanna Memorial Forum on Sunday night.
Bhupesh Raseeen, cousin brother of Rajesh Khanna, was the chief guest on the occasion. Others who attended the function include singer Alisha Arora, fashion blogger Sanha Chandok, actress Simran Sehajpal, anchor Arvinder Bhatti and stage actor Madam Aman.
In his welcome address programme director, Prof HS Walia, said, “There are two motives for organising the programme. First to commemorate the legend and superstar of yesteryears, Rajesh Khanna, who was born in Amritsar, and second to motivate artistes of tele and short-films by recognising their talent and performance.”
“Short films have an important role in highlighting social issues of the present day world. So producers, directors and artistes of these films must be given due recognition,” he added.
Out of the 30 entries of films, a team of experts selected awards for best film, best director, best female actor, best male actor, best child actor and best actor with a negative role.
