Wife accused of ‘killing’ man

A youth, identified as Kamaljit Singh (32), was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Prem Nagar in Kot Khalsa here on Sunday evening. His family members have accused his wife of killing him.

Kanwaljit Singh, brother of the deceased, alleged that his brother had a dispute with his wife who “poisoned him to death”. The police took the body for postmortem examination. Police authorities said further investigation was under way.

The complainant said his brother, an air conditioner mechanic, was married around three years ago and had a daughter. However, the couple did not enjoy cordial relations as quarrels arose most often. “I left for my job today. After sometime, I got a call regarding his death. Upon reaching the house, his wife informed me that he hanged himself to end his life whereas there was no sign of hanging on the ceiling fan. She claimed that she removed the body from the ceiling on her own,” he added.
