Woman booked for ‘fraud’

The Division B police have booked Navdeep Kaur of the New Amritsar area for allegedly defrauding her husband and in-laws’ family.

Her father-in-law, Surat Singh of New Amritsar, stated to the police that he sent Navdeep abroad for higher studies and to settle there by spending huge money. He said she had promised to take his son and her husband, Sukhdeep Singh, whenever she would settle there. He said now when she had settled there, she was not attending to their calls and neither had she sent any spouse visa for his son, thereby cheating them.

Jarnail Singh, investigating officer, said the probe was on in the case. He said a case under Section 420, IPC, has been registered in this regard. — TNS
