Yoga-cum-meditation camp

CJM Monica Sharma, who is also the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar, in collaboration with Brahim Kumari Vishav Vidhayala, organised a yoga-cum-meditation camp at the old age home situated on the Sultanwind road on Tuesday. Training camp

The Department of Youth Welfare of Guru Nanak Dev University organised a youth leadership training camp at Students Holiday Home in Dalhousie recently. As many as 103 students from 17 affiliated colleges participated in the camp. Dr Vishwa Raman Nirmal, head, Pepsico Limited, Asia, presided over the valedictory function and Dr Kanwaljit Singh from Gurmat Sangeet Department, Punjabi University, Patiala, was the guest of honour. Gurwinder Singh was adjudged the best camper while Deepak and Niari jointly bagged the second prize of best camper and Mahabir Singh got the third position in the category.

Man injured in mishap

Amritsar: The police have arrested the driver of a bus after a passenger of another bus got injured due to his negligence. Victim Jaspal Singh hired a bus from Court Chowk to the railway station. He said another bus stopped parallel to his bus. The victim said when he alighted from his bus, the driver of another bus turned towards the Lohgarh side. Due to his negligence, he was crushed between the two buses, the victim added. He was rushed to a private hospital from where he was referred to the PGI in Chandigarh. The driver has been identified as Kulwant Singh of Ajnala. Later, he was released on bail. TNS

One held with illicit liquor 

Amritsar:The police have arrested a person on the charge of bootlegging. The accused has been identified as Mohinder Singh, alias Shinda, a resident of Kot khalsa area. The Chheharta police recovered nine bottles of illicit liquor from his possession. TNS
