A scooter-borne youth died in a road accident at Chamrang Road on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Chetan Bhatt, a resident of Raja Wali Gali, Maha Singh Gate. Chetan had gone to market nearby with his friend Teg Bahadur.
In his complaint to the Division B police station, Teg Bahadur mentioned that he, along with Chetan Bhatt, was going on a scooter when an unidentified truck hit them near Chamrang Road turn. They fell down. Chetan's sustained a critical head injury and he died on the spot. Teg Bahadur sustained severe injuries.
ASI Prem Singh, investigating officer, said a case under Sections 304-A, 279, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC was registered.
