Youth’s bike skids due to broken pieces of glass, dies

A youngster riding a bullet motorcycle was killed in a road mishap on the elevated road near Alpha One mall on Monday evening. According to the information, the mishap took place after the bike skidded due to broken pieces of glass lying on the road.
The deceased has been identified as Jasjit Singh (23), whose father is the owner of a gun house near Bhandari Bridge.
Jasjit was going home at Veer Enclave on a bullet motorcycle around 9:30 pm and when he reached near Alpha One mall, he saw some broken pieces of glass on the road. He applied breaks but his motorcycle skidded and lost its control. He fell on the road, leading to his death.
Cops were clearing the broken pieces of glass, which were lying on the road after a car hit a rickshaw loaded with glass, at the time of the incident. The mishap led to a pile-up of two more cars. According to the information, the car drivers had an argument, but later they left the spot.
Inspector Gagandeep Singh, SHO, Maqboolpura police station, said, “Cops were on the spot and clearing the road after the accident. The car drivers reached a compromise and left the spot. Meanwhile, Jasjit’s bike skidded. He was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.”
The Maqboolpura police have initiated proceedings in this regard.
