Kala Kendra students get degree

The Pracheen Kala Kendra, a leading institute of multidimensional excellence which has been engaged in the preservation and propagation of classical arts, presented degrees and diplomas to its students at Randhawa Auditorium here today.
Kathak exponent Shobha Koser, Dr Samira Koser and Sajal Koser were the chief guests. DK Tiwari, Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Punjab, and Dr Harvinder Kumar Sharma, eminent sitar player, delivered the keynote address. Artistes who performed included Avninder Singh, Satwinder Singh, danseuses Sonakshi, Nandini and Shreya Pratap.
Tributes to Amrita Pritam
The Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi (CSA) organised a seminar as part of the birth centenary celebrations of litterateur Amrita Pritam at the People’s Convention Centre here today.
Akademi chairman Madhav Kaushik talked about Amrita Pritam’s s versatility as an author. Akademi secretary Dr Jaspal Singh introduced the concept of the seminar.
Satirical play brings the house down
The Tagore Theatre Society and the Department of Cultural Affairs organised a satirical comedy play, ‘Bhagwan ka poot’, during the Jaspal Bhatti Comedy Sunday Series at Tagore theatre here today.
