Baahubali 2 topples Tom Hanks’ The Circle

Not just national but SS Rajamouli's magnum-opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, is on a spree to break box office records internationally too.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion emerged as number three on the US Box Office behind Vin Diesel's Fate of the Furious and a Hispanic comedy How to be a Latin Lover.

"Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" has raked in over Rs 400 crore at the ticket windows in its opening weekend worldwide, according to trade experts.

The second part in the "Baahubali" franchise has rewritten box office records -- and how. After zooming past the Rs 100 crore mark on its first day of release on April 28, its opening weekend collection has raised the bar.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has presented the Hindi dubbed version of the film, tweeted: "Historic Weekend! Here is the Hindi language all-India Friday (Rs 41 crore), Saturday (Rs 40.5 crore), Sunday (Rs 46.5 crore). Grand total Rs 128 crore." Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "The wave is unstoppable. 'Baahubali 2' creates new record."


Meanwhile Rajini salutes Rajamouli

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' has been impressing everyone with its content including superstar Rajinikanth, so much so that he called the movie “India's cinema pride”.

The 66-year-old-actor took to Twitter and called the movie a “masterpiece”. He even called Rajamouli ‘god's own child'.

The actor tweeted, “Baahubali 2 ... indian cinema's pride. My salutes to God's own child @ssrajamouli and his team!!! #masterpiece.” T

he director was quick to respond and wrote, “THALAIVAAAA... Feeling like god himself blessed us... our team is on cloud9... Anything couldn't be bigger...” Even actor Rana Daggubati, who plays the role of Bhallala Deva, could not stop gushing about Thalaaiva's comment on the movie.
