Talwandi Sabo Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Varinder Singh today, under Section 144, imposed a ban on carrying licensed or any other lethal weapons and assembling of five persons near refinery — Phulokheri and Kanakwal villages — for maintaining law and order situation.

He said protests were being held on the roads leading to the refinery due to which it was creating problems for the vehicles going to the refinery.

He added that it could also lead to clash among people and keeping in mind these things, the decision had been taken. These orders will be in force till February 28.
