Bank launches plan for students aspiring to study in Canada

ICICI Bank Canada, a subsidiary of ICICI Bank, has announced the launch of guaranteed investment certificate (GIC) programme for students aspiring to study in Canada.
In a press release issued here today, Vijay Chandok, president, ICICI Bank, said as per the requirement, students applying for a study permit under the student partner programme (SPP), are required to invest in a GIC of $10,000 with a bank in Canada authorised to offer this facility.
Chandok said the ICICI Bank Canada is the first Indian bank to be authorised by the Canadian High Commission to accept guaranteed investment certificate from the Indian students. The programme enables the students from India to fulfill the prerequisite of purchasing a guaranteed investment certificate by transferring funds from any bank account held by them in India to their account in the ICICI Bank Canada. Students can do this while they are in India.
The guaranteed investment certificate Program will help the students fulfill their dream of studying in Canada and also help their parents facilitate their overseas banking needs in an easy and convenient manner.
