4 city players selected for powerlifting nationals

The Bathinda district sub-junior powerlifting team (girls and boys) won the overall Punjab state sub-junior championship, held at Jalandhar recently. Four players from the team have been selected for nationals.

The players who won gold medals are Ritesha, Jasmine and Sandeep Singh. Kuljeet Singh won the silver medal while Navdeep, Satpal and Karan Nehar won the bronze medal in the sub-junior championship.

The team was today felicitated by District Powerlifting Association secretary Kanwar Bhim Singh and coach Parwinder Singh.

Kanwar Bhim Singh said Ritesha, Jasmine, Sandeep Singh and Kuljeet Singh had been selected to represent Punjab in the nationals which were to be held in Maharashtra.
