Bathinda, June 17
The Bathinda District Cricket Association today organised an open trial of cricket players in the Under-16 years category at the Rajindra Government College grounds in Bathinda. As many as 127 players from all over the district participated in the trial.
Arun Wadhawan, PCA selector, along with PCA coach Ravi Kohli and Satya Bhushan conducted the trial and observed every player for his talent.
According to OD Sharma, honorary secretary of the association, said as many as 42 players were selected during the trial for the training camp to be held at Government Rajindra College ground and Police Lines ground. Players shall be imparted specialised training in all departments of the game by Ravi Kohli and Satya Bhushan.
Sharma said finally, the district cricket team of Under-16 players will be selected for participation in Punjab State Inter-District Tournament to be played in October. All expenses incurred on the training camp and matches shall be borne by the District Cricket Association. — TNS
