Baba Farid College students shine in zonal youth fest, lok mela

Students of Baba Farid College won numerous positions in the zonal youth festival and lok mela of Punjabi University held at Regional Polytechnic College, Behman Diwana, recently.

Navreet Kaur, a student of BA final year, bagged the first position in lok geet and western solo song.

Amandeep Singh, BA-II, won the second the position in painting, while Rohit Kumar, BCA-II, bagged the second position in the photography competition.

The college has also bagged the second position in various competitions, including Indian group song, group shabad, western group song, classical vocal, western instrument solo, giddha, quiz and tug of war.

The college got the third position in bhangra, geet and gazal, vaar gayan and pakhi-making competitions.

Ritu Mohanti, BSc (biotechnology), bagged the third position in the collage-making competition. Veerpal Kaur (BA-III) and Sukhveer Singh (BBA-III) were adjudged ‘Best Dancer’ in giddha and bhangra, respectively.

Jai Ashish Sethi, principal, Baba Farid College, appreciated the efforts of the winning students. He said, “It is a matter of pride that every year, students make the college proud by achieving greater heights in the cultural field.”

Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, chairman, Baba Farid Group of Institutions, congratulated the students for their achievement.
