Bathinda, January 31
The Barmer-Kalka Express today resumed its services, providing relief to passengers.
Harmeet Singh, a student, said, “Earlier, we had to go to the bus stand in the wee hours in extreme cold weather conditions for boarding a bus to Ambala. Besides, we had to pay more fare than in train.”
However, it seems to be no relief for passengers travelling on long route despite improved weather conditions in the past few days.
A number of passengers were seen making rounds of the enquiry counters and waiting for their trains.
According to information, the 74985-86 DMU Express, which plies between Bathinda and Fazilka, has been cancelled. Similarly, 54641 Delhi-Ferozepur Cantt and 14525 Ambala Cantt- Sriganganagar Intercity Express have also been cancelled.
Besides, 13008 Udyan Abha Toofan Express, which is not running in the Agra-Howrah section, will resume its services from February 15.
A majority of the trains are running behind their scheduled time. The 15910-09 Avadh Assam Express, 14732-31 Fazilka-Delhi Intercity Express, 14712-11 Sriganganagar-Haridwar Intercity Express and 14625 Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Ferozepur Cantt Express are running late by more than eight hours.
