Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda, conducted the BEE certificate examination of the NCC recently. Lt Rajeev Kumar Varshney of the 20 Punjab BN NCC, Bathinda, was given the responsibility to make necessary arrangements for the exam at the Giani Zail Campus College of Engineering and Technology, Bathinda.
Col Abhishek Bahuguna and Lt Col Sajal Jain of the 14 Punjab BN NCC, Nabha, were the presiding officers appointed for it. Around 350 cadets (both boys and girls) from various colleges in Bathinda, Mansa, Budhladha, Malout and Barnala took the exam. The BEE certificate is an essential pre-condition for appearing in the CEE certificate examination, which is the required condition for getting preference in various jobs, especially in the armed forces.
Col Bahuguna appreciated the arrangements made by the university authorities for the exam. He informed about the pattern of the examination. He said the cadets were evaluated under four categories. The cadets were apprised of the rigours of their routine and camp training.They were of the opinion that it was the result of the attention and hard work of NCC administration, which helped them perform satisfactorily in this exam. Most cadets expressed their wish to join the armed forces.
University Vice-Chancellor Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and Registrar Jasbir Singh Hundal emphasised upon their commitment to continue their support for extra-curricular activities. Campus director Dr Gursharan Singh appreciated the efforts made by the NCC unit of the campus.
