Mansa, July 4
Bringing laurels to Mansa district, Anmoldeep Singh (rank 317), Akash Singla (rank 406) and Neeraj Kumar (rank 427) have made it to the IAS.
All the three candidates are residents of Budhlada sub-division of the Mansa district. Anmoldeep had earlier topped in the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examinations 2013 while Neeraj Kumar of Budhlada had secured the 13th position. However, both these residents of Budhdala have again achieved success.
Anmoldeep, son of an advocate, said, “I had earlier topped in the PMT in Punjab in 2007 and had done MBBS from a private medical college in Patiala.”
Akash Singla, who achieved 406th rank, also belongs to Budhlada town. Akash’s father said, “My son did his BTech from PEC, Chandigarh, and MBA from IIM, Lucknow. After that, he was in job for three years with the IBM at Gurgaon and Noida. He left his job and prepared for exams. Earlier too, he cleared the PCS Mains but his name was in the waiting list. Now, he has cleared the IAS and made us proud.”
Twenty seven-year-old Neeraj Kumar from Budhlada town of Mansa district too brought laurels to his town and family.
Earlier, Neeraj had bagged 13th rank in the PCS exam. Educated at IIT Guwahati, Neeraj was placed in an MNC in Noida. But in 2012, he opted to quit his job as senior design engineer after working for three years here and started preparations for the PCS exam.
“I cleared the written exam but failed to make it after the interview last year. However, in my second attempt, I achieved success in the PCS while in my third attempt, I have achieved my goal to clear the IAS. Hard work and patience are needed to achieve one’s goal and one should continue with the efforts. I left the job to prepare for the exams.”
