Elated over his achievement, Madhavansh’s father Tarun Mittal said, “It indeed is a very special moment for all family members. We have been getting congratulatory calls from relatives and near and dear ones. Apart from the support from family members, there has been co-operation from the school principal. Chess is a time consuming game and a player has to adjust his or her time between academics and game in a balanced manner.”

Madhavansh has already started preparing for a national chess championship to be held in Delhi in November. Earlier, he had participated in the World Asian Youth Chess Championship held in September. Players from 12 countries had participated in it. He performed well in the championship.

Madhavansh’s father is into the business of chocolate manufacturing and the mother is a doctor.
