City doc selected to review guidelines on hypertension

BATHINDA, OCTOBER 13
Members of the Association of Physicians of India (Malwa branch) congratulated Dr Vitull K Gupta, consultant physician, Kishori Ram Hospital, for being chosen to review the Indian Guidelines on Hypertension 2019 - IV. This month, the association published the guidelines in the journal of Association of Physicians of India. The first set of guidelines were published in 2001; second set of guidelines in 2007 and third set of guidelines in 2013.
Dr Vitull said, “In view of our special geographical and climatic conditions, ethnic background, dietary habits and significant differences in disease manifestations, Indians need their own guidelines for management of high blood pressure.”
