City gets new Civil Surgeon

Bathinda, August 2

Dr Amrik Singh Sandhu took charge as Civil Surgeon, Bathinda, on Friday. Previously, he was posted at Faridkot. The Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) Association welcomed Dr Sandhu.

Office-bearers of the PCMS Association, including Dr Gurmail Singh, president; Dr Ravi Kant Gupta, vice-president; and Dr Amit Kamboj, general secretary; were present on the occasion. The PCMS Association assured the Civil Surgeon of full cooperation to improve healthcare services in the city. Dr. Sandhu said he would call a meeting on Monday to discuss important issues. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
