Bathinda, October 28

City girl Narinder Kaur, a student of BP Ed (first year) of Malwa College of Physical Education, Bathinda, brought laurels to the college by getting selected in the women’s Indian hockey team.

She will represent the country in the 4th Women’s Asian Champion Trophy in Singapore, to be held from October 29 to November 5.

Apart from India, four other teams, China, Japan, Korea and Malaysia, will also participate in the championship.

Prof Ajitpal Singh, in-charge sports, said the girl had already brought honour to the college by winning a gold medal in the all-India inter-university meet.

Director of the college, Prof Darshan Singh, Dean RC Sharma and faculty members complimented the achievement of the girl.

The college management congratulated the girl and announced to honour her at a special function. — TNS
