City schools perform better than last yr

Students who had appeared for class X examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) finally heaved a sigh of relief when the board announced the results today. For the past few days, the students and the schools’ staff had been a harried lot as the result, which was to be announced earlier this week, was delayed.

Meanwhile, students of various schools in Bathinda performed better than last year as several schools registered a higher number of students securing 10 CGPA.

Elated over the result of the school, principal of St Joseph’s Convent Senior Secondary School Sister Helen D’Costa said all 237 students who had appeared for the examination from the school had passed it. Also, 116 students had secured 10 CGPA. Last year, out of the 230 students who had appeared for the examination from the school, 93 students had secured 10 CGPA.

Elaborating on the results, principal of St Xavier’s School Father Eulalio Fernandes said out of more than 235 students of the school who had appeared in the examination, 137 students had secured 10 CGPA. Last year, 200 students had appeared for the examination out of which 88 students had scored the top grade, CGPA10.

Students of Silver Oaks School also brought laurels as out of 45 students who appeared for the examination, 19 secured CGPA 10. Last year, out of 52 students, 23 had scored CGPA 10. School director Malwinder Kaur Sidhu and principal Neelam Verma congratulated the students and staff members of the school on the achievement.

Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School also registered 100 per cent pass percentage as the 185 students who had appeared for the examination have cleared the same. As many as 40 students of the school secured 10 CGPA.

Meanwhile, 18 students of The Millennium School, 25 students of Lord Rama Public School and three students of Vishwas Public School also secured CGPA 10 and added a feather to their institutions’ cap.

100% result

  • Of the 237 students who appeared for the examination from St Joseph's Convent Senior Secondary School 116 secured 10 CGPA. 
  • From St Xavier's School, more than 235 students appeared in the examination and 137 students secured 10 CGPA.
  • Of the 45 students of Silver Oaks School, 19 secured CGPA 10.
  • Shri Guru Harkrishan Public School's 185 students had appeared for the examination and 40 secured 10 CGPA.
