Patients and their attendants coming to the Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital from far-flung areas will no longer face any difficulty in reaching the department concerned they want. As the hospital authorities concerned are going to install signage boards on the premises for the convenience of visitors.

It is pertinent to mention here that Bathinda Tribune had highlighted this issue in these columns and Civil Surgeon Hari Narayan Singh had assured that very soon they would install signage boards on the entire premises of the hospital.

Talking to Bathinda Tribune, Civil Surgeon Hari Narayan Singh said they were going to install a hospital map at the entrance of the hospital. Besides, they would install arrow signage boards and if possible they would install digital signboards in the Hindi, English and Punjabi languages for patients and their attendants’ facilitation.

On the other hand, a number of patients and their attendants appreciated the efforts of the Health Department.

Kulwant Singh, accompanying a patient, said, “It is a very appreciable step taken by the authorities concerned. Last time when we came to the hospital in the absence of signage boards it took around half an hour to find out the location of District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) on the premises of the hospital. Moreover, even after reaching the centre we were unable to find out the room of the doctor we had come to meet.”

Mohan Kumar, a migrant labourer, said, “It is very comforting to know that the hospital authorities were going to install signage boards in the Hindi language as well. This will definitely provide a huge relief to visitors who come here from other states.”
