The protesters raised slogans against the state government and claimed that the state government was not serious about the issue of employees.

They said the state government had not paid their DA instalment for the last 22 months, the recommendations of the Pay Commission should be implemented, equal work equal pay rule should be implemented, old pension scheme should be restarted and Rs 200 development tax should be taken back.

Addressing the protesters, leaders said on September 6, they would hold a convention in Jalandhar and on September 20, they would march towards the Moti Mahal, Patiala, where All India chairman of the union Sajjan Singh would announce to hold a hunger strike.
