Dr RK Uppal, head of economics department, DAV College, Malout, was recently honoured with honorary D.Litt by University of Asia. This happened on the basis of recommendations of Dr Radha Krishnan Research and Development Centre, Bengaluru.
Dr Uppal did his MA (Economics) from Punjabi University, Patiala, in 1986. Thereafter, he did MPhil from Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, in 1987; PhD from Punjabi University, Patiala, and D.Litt from International University California, US, in 2009.
In banking and finance, Dr Uppal has 72 books to his credit and also published 300 research papers on the subject in reputed national and international journals.
He has also presented 72 research papers at the national and international conferences. Among these, eight papers have been accepted in the international conferences in Hawai, Indonesia, Finland, Costa-Rica, Australia, London, Pakistan and the UK.
