Different Convent School, Ghudda, organised its annual day function, ‘Aashayein’, on the school premises.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla was the chief guest at the function. Dyal Dass Sodhi, Chairman, Improvement Trust; Ashok Bharti, former chairman, Improvement Trust and Rajeev Arora, Director, All India Radio, Bathinda were present as the special guests on the occasion.

The chief guest, along with other distinguishes guests, inaugurated the function with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Thereafter, school students presented ‘Saraswati Vandana’. The annual report of the school was present by school chief patron Veenu Goyal.

Sampla appreciated the efforts of the school managements, students and parents. He also assures the school of financial support.

The students presented a motivational dance drama, ‘Aashyon Ki Kiran’ and senior students performed bhangra.

In the end, Punjabi sufi singer Kanwar Grewal enthrall the audience with his singing. He sung his famous songs ‘Ticktan Do Le ja’, ‘Chaala’ and others.

Munish Batla, school principal; Sukhwinder Singh, chairman, Dr Holmes Academy; and Rajinder Mittal, chairman, Springdale Public School were also present on the occasion.
