After the transfer of Municipal commissioner Sanyam Aggarwal, the project of converting Ajit road into a digital street has fallen flat as Miceplus Solutions Private Limited MD Anil Thamman, who was the brain behind the project was not seen at the MCB office in the past month.

The Municipal Corporation of Bathinda, (MCB) had made a plan to make the Ajit road first digital market in the state in January.

Municipal Commissioner Sanyam Aggarwal had also called a meeting with the shopkeepers of the Ajit road regarding the project and the latter had given their consent, but now it seems that the MCB has forgotten about the project.

Under the scheme, it was stated that digital boards would be installed, high speed Wi-Fi service would be provided and hi-tech solar dustbins would be installed, which will also have the facility of mobile charging, but nothing has happened at the ground level.

Steel frames were to be installed on the walls, which would be used for advertisement purposes.

As this road is not much wide, students coming to coaching centres had to be motivated to come on cycles to ease the traffic.
