Bathinda, December 3

A winter carnival was organised by Delhi Public School, Bathinda, on its premises which witnessed immense participation by students, their parents and public at large.

The chief guest of the event was Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal. Various game stalls were put up at the carnival for the entertainment of visitors. Stalls offering games like shoot the balloon, word cookies, hit the penguin, try your luck, wheel of fortune and tambola, attracted the visitors.

The programme started with a melodious song presented by the school choir. Students from various preparatory schools presented interesting performances and participated in the fancy dress competition and mummy baby dance show. A song was presented by students of Shiksha Kendra, an afternoon school run by DPS for the children belonging to the deprived sections of society.

Addressing the gathering, Manpreet Singh Badal appreciated the efforts of the children, teachers and staff for organising the event and urged the students and their parents to spend some time together and enjoy activities other than studies. Students outstanding in the field of academics, sports, cultural and other activities were felicitated.
