The police have registered a case against eight persons, including a couple and three children, for allegedly assaulting a woman.
In her complaint to the police, Chhinderpal Kaur of Gobindpura village said the accused had a land dispute with her and they assaulted her when she was returning to her home.
The woman alleged that apart from assaulting, they threatened her with dire consequences.
Police officials said a case under Sections 354, 341, 506, 323 and 149 of the IPC had been against the accused.
The accused have been identified as Lachhman Singh, mother Gurnam Kaur, wife Rani Kaur, daughter Pammi Kaur, elder son, brother Darshan Singh, Darshan’s wife Mishri and their son Gurpreet Singh.
Police officials said all family members had beaten up the woman following the dispute. No arrests have been made so far. The police are investigating the matter.
