EPFO launches UAN programme

Employees Provident Fund Organisation today launched Universal Account Number programme for its members that would cater to the facilities of E Passbook, SMS on monthly contribution received in the PF account, Downloadable and Dynamic UAN (Universal Account Number) Card, Short Code SMS Service, and Portability of Accounts.

The EPO, a largest social security organisation with more than 7.96 lakh establishments under its ambit, is now having multiplicity of member IDs. For availing the full benefits offered by the UAN, it has to be ensured that after the allotment of the UAN, the employer will seed it with relevant KYC like Aadhar, Bank account, PAN etc. Thereafter the employer has to activate it by visiting the EPF website.

Already more than 50 lakh PR members have activated their UAN and are eligible to avail various services provided by the EPFO. It is with a view to popularise the UAN, facilitate the members to activate their UAN and publicise various initiatives taken by the EPFO for enhanced service delivery to all stakeholders. The EPFO has launched ‘PF Aaplke Dwar (PF at your doorstep) programme wherein awareness and the facilitation camps are being held in all industrial areas and commercial hubs between May 15 to May 25.

The first PF at your doorstep under jurisdiction of Regional PF Commissioner Bathinda was held at RB DAV Seniour Schoold Bibiwala Road, Bathinda. — TNS
