The NSS wing of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) organised a one-day workshop on “Digital India” on its campus in which various benefits of e- governance for the common people were highlighted by speakers.
The workshop was organised under the aegis of National e-governance Division (NeGD). It was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Shena Aggarwal. Capt (Retd.) Subhash Chand, director, Regional Center NSS, Chandigarh; Prof (Dr) JS Hundal, registrar, MRSPTU and Vivek Vatsa, consultant, State e-governance Mission Teams (SeMT) addressed the workshop.
The speakers said the main objective of this flagship workshop was to provide the services to all the citizens on anywhere anytime basis. Various government agencies like C-DAC, CDC, UIDAI and NIELIT showcased their services by setting up their stalls.
As many as 160 NSS volunteers from seven colleges of the university took part in the workshop.
