Three retired police officials, who are the office-bearers of the Punjab Police Housing Multipurpose Welfare Society Limited, Bathinda, have been booked for fraud worth crores with the society.
In a complaint lodged by Roshan Lal, a resident of Rama Mandi and owner of Bansal Brothers Engineer and Construction, have stated that his company was allotted work to construct residential police colony over 108 acres on the outskirts of Kotshamir village at the cost of Rs 25 lakh per acre.
He stated that the accused, a retired inspector Harpal Singh, who is the president of the Punjab Police Housing Multipurpose Welfare Society Limited, Bathinda, society cashier, a retired SI, Babu Singh, and society secretary retired DSP, Jaswinder Pal Sharma, cancelled his contract without any reason and allotted it to some other party and even stole the furniture kept in his office.
He also stated that the accused had also cut the trees of worth Rs 70 lakh from inside and later sold them off after stealing them.
SHO Kotfatta said they have registered a case on the complainant of Roshan Lal and they will deeply investigate into the matter, after which further action would be taken in this case.
He stated that Roshan Lal had complained that this society had done agreement with him and he had to construct the whole building, but the society office-bearers cancelled his contracted without any reason and also stole his office furniture and he had sold his trees, which he had grown.
A case under Sections 420, 379, 409, 427, 506, 34 of the IPC have been registered against the accused at the Kotfatta police station.
