North India Technical Consultancy Organisation Limited (NITCON), Chandigarh, is going to conduct a skill development programme in Bathinda district from February 2015 to May 2015. Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Government of India, New Delhi, the main objective of this programme is to generate self-employment by imparting technical training to the potential youth.
Assistant general manager, Vijay Arora, and programme coordinator, Harsimrat Kaur Grewal, NITCON, Chandigarh, stated that youths would be imparted training in mobile repair with android technology, motor assembling for coolers, fans and domestic purpose and apparel designing (exclusively for women).
During this programme, the trainees will acquire practical and managerial skills besides technical inputs and all these courses would be conducted free of charge. They said that last date to submit applications for these programmes was February 25.
These programmes will start at NITCON STEP camp office Bathinda. They added that the programme will be very useful for the unemployed youth to start their own ventures and enterprises instead of seeking jobs. They also elaborated that certificates would be awarded after the successful completion of programme. Those students, who are keen to set up their own ventures, can take bank loans under different schemes of government.
