On April 16, 2015, notorious criminal Kulbir Naruana, who was lodged in the jail, opened fire at Gurdeep alias Manna (another jail inmate), a member of Gurpreet Sekhon’s group inside the Bathinda Central Jail, which led to a clash between two groups.

Afterwards, the Civil Lines police had registered cross cases against 14 jail inmates of both groups. — TNS
