Ghanshyam Thori takes charge as Deputy Commissioner

Ghanshyam Thori, a 2010 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, took charge as the Deputy Commissioner, Bathinda. He takes over from Dr Basant Garg. Before joining here, Thori served as Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana.
Thori took guard of honour today at the District Administrative Complex.
Earlier, he had served as Assistant Commissioner (under training), Muktsar, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Samrala and Payal respectively and also as Additional Commissioner of MC, Ludhiana.
After assuming the charge of office, Thori held a meeting with senior officers of the district administration to know the status of the ongoing development projects and works in the pipeline and welfare schemes.
He said timely completion of the ongoing development works, execution of pending projects, welfare schemes and resolving public grievances and issues would remain on priority.
Thori was welcomed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rahul Chaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal, Maur SDM Latif Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner (Grievances) Veerpal Kaur and District Transport Officer Mankanwal Singh Chahal.
