The long wait of students, who had appeared for Class XII examinations, ended on Saturday when the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) finally declared the results of the Panchkula region. Ever since the examinations got over, the students had been an anxious lot.
Gunsimran Kaur (humanities), a student of St Xavier’s Convent School, bagged the first position in the city by securing 96.8 per cent marks. Mehak and Muskan (non-medical), both students of St Joseph’s Convent Senior Secondary School, Abhinav Jindal (humanities) of St Xavier’s Convent School and Anchal (medical) of Saint Fateh Singh Convent School shared the second position by scoring 96.4 per cent marks in their respective streams.
Megha (commerce) of St Xavier’s Convent School and Abhinandan K Malik (non-medical) of the Sanawar Institute for Children bagged the third position by scoring 96 per cent marks in their respective streams.
Students of St Joseph’s Convent Senior Secondary School added another feather to the school’s cap by coming out with flying colours in the examinations. In the medical stream, Ekamjeet Singh Sidhu, Sukhleen Kaur and Jasleen Kaur bagged the top three positions in the school by securing 95.6, 93.8 and 93.6 per cent marks, respectively. In the non-medical stream, while Mehak and Muskan both bagged the first position, Shubham Goyal and Eishan Lawarence both bagged the second position with 94.4 per cent marks while Karan Pathania scored 93.6 per cent marks to secure the third position in the school.
In the commerce stream, students of St Joseph’s Convent Senior Secondary School Sagariak Goyal, Shivam Garg and Vishal Kumar bagged the first three positions by scoring 95.8, 95 and 94.2 per cent marks, respectively. A total number of 97 students of the school had appeared for the Class XII examinations from the school.
Students of St Xavier’s Convent School also did the institute proud by performing well in the examinations. Gunsimran Kaur (humanities), Abhinav Jindal (humanities) and Megha (commerce) bagged the top three positions in the school with 96.8, 96.4 and 96 per cent marks, respectively. As per the data made available by the school, as many as 55 students of the total 200 students who had appeared for the examinations scored 90 per cent or above marks.
As many as 21 students from various streams of RBDAV Public Senior Secondary School secured above 90 per cent marks. About 118 students of the school had appeared for the examinations out of which Simran and Nitika secured 96 per cent marks in the commerce stream. In the medical stream, Armaan Bansal topped with 95 per cent marks while Neha Nohria came in second with 91.4 per cent marks. In the humanities stream, Prabhjapan Kaur secured 95.4 per cent marks. In the non-medical stream, while Lavnish secured 93.4 per cent, Vishal scored 91.6 per cent, Alisha secured 90.6 per cent marks and did the school proud.
Students and staff members of Delhi Public School were also a joyous lot as the school recorded 100 per cent pass percentage. Five students out of the total 51 students who had appeared for the examinations from the school secured 90 per cent or above marks. Commerce student Parika topped the school with 94 per cent marks while Amanveer Kaur of humanities stream secured 93.2 per cent marks to secure the second position in the school.
Another humanities student Pavneet Kaur scored 92.6 per cent marks to bag the third position. Others who scored above 90 per cent marks included commerce students Rachita Sharma and Shina Garg who secured 92.4 and 91.6 per cent, respectively.
Out of the total 77 students of Sudesh Vatika Convent School, 70 cleared the examinations. Robin Kumar topped the medical stream with 95.6 per cent marks while Ankur Garg and Diljeet Kaur bagged the second and third positions with 94 and 93.6 per cent marks, respectively. In the non-medical stream, Aayush Goyal, Harnoor Deep Singh and Piyush Goyal bagged the first three positions with 94.6, 93 and 92.6 per cent marks, respectively.
Students of Saint Fateh Singh Convent School also did not lag behind when it came to scoring well in the examinations. As many as six students scored over 95 per cent marks. While Anchal topped with 96.4 per cent marks, Isha Singla bagged the second position in the school with 96 per cent marks and Simran Gill secured the third position in the school with 95.6 per cent marks. Others who secured more than 95 per cent marks included Sakshi (95.4), Paras Maheshwari (95.2) and Ravikant Goyal (95.2).
At Lord Rama Public School, the pass percentage was recorded at 92 per cent. Pooja Gupta of non-medical topped the school with 91 per cent marks while commerce students Happy Jindal bagged the second position with 90.6 per cent. Commerce student Baljot Kaur bagged the third position in the school with 90.2 per cent.
Students of Police DAV Public School also brought laurels to the school by performing well in the examinations. While Tarakjot Kaur (science) topped the school with 90.4 per cent marks, Rishab Gupta (commerce) stood second with 89.6 per cent while humanities student Pulkit Arora bagged the third position with 88 per cent.
As many as eight students of Sanawar scored 90 per cent or above marks in the examinations. While Abhinandan malik stood first in the school, Akhil Garg of non-medical bagged the third position with 94.8 per cent marks and Lavish Thakkar of non-medical stream secured the third position by scoring 93.6 per cent marks.
As many as 55 students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School had appeared for the examinations of which Jasjit Kaur (science) topped the school with 92.6 per cent marks. Jasjit scored 97 marks in chemistry. Thirteen students of the school secured over 80 per cent marks in the school.
Judiciary dreams for topper
Till evening, Gunsimran was oblivious of the fact that with her score of 96.8 per cent, she had topped in Bathinda. Joyous when told about the same, Gunsimran shared her future dreams with Bathinda Tribune. “I have already appeared for various law entrance examinations as I want to be a lawyer or a judge. I am also interested in journalism, writing books and doing social service. I am already a registered member of the Malala Foundation. Though I was busy with my studies for the past two-three years, now, I am hoping to get some time to pay attention to my interests as well,” she said.
Daughter of Model Town residents LIC agent Gurwinder Singh Sandhu and Punjabi teacher Gurwinder Kaur, Gunsimran has the full support of her family to pursue her dreams. Surprisingly, she also clarified that despite her brilliant score, she was not interested in trying her luck at the civil services.
