Bathinda, June 13

Students from Bathinda, who had appeared for the JEE Advanced examination, have come out with flying colours. The result of the examination was declared yesterday by the Central Board of Secondary Education.

While Gopal Vir secured all-India rank 318, the highest in the city, he was followed by Aakash, who secured AIR 354.

Both students attributed their success to their teachers at the school and Magnet Coaching Centre.

Other students from the institute, who cracked the examination included Ayush Kumar AIR 5859, Jashanpreet Sran AIR 6300, Dikshit Garg AIR 7218 and Saurav Kumar AIR 11121.

As many as 560 students aspiring to seek admission to top engineering institutes of the country had appeared for the JEE advanced offline examination at two centres across the city on May 22.

JEE (Advanced) examination comprises of two papers. While paper I was compulsory for all students, paper II was optional.

Paper I (B.E/BTech) had physics, chemistry and maths as its components. Only those students, who had opted for architecture, appeared for paper II (BArch/BPlanning), which had maths, aptitude and drawing as its components.

As per information shared by the District Education Officer (Secondary), five boys from the Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students, Bathinda, also cracked the examination.

Total 23 students from the school had appeared for the examination. The five students secured AIRs 1149, 1578, 1850, 1952 and 3227. All these students belong to the scheduled caste category.
