If a government high school in Faridkot district recently earned fame with the paint giving it look like a train, then this Government Primary School at Mahni Khera village in Lambi Assembly segment here is also not behind. The teachers here have converted the school building walls into study material.
The paintings of animals, birds, traffic signals, trees, etc, have been made to make the learning process easy for the students. The special looks of this school are attracting the students as well.
Raj Kumar, head teacher of the school, said, “Myself along with other teachers Parikshit Kumar, Jyoti and Rupinder Kaur have given the special looks to the school building. It not just attracts the students but also help them learn easily. We have painted the objects of daily use, mathematics, science, road safety, history and politics.”
He said, “The school was given this look three years ago with the financial support of some people. The paintings are still clear as the students and teachers have taken care of it.”
Meanwhile, Malkit Singh, District Education Officer (DEO), Muktsar, said, “This school was adjudged as best school in the district in the Swachh School Survekshan last year. The students of this school are multi-talented. Apart from education, they are doing well in sports and extra-curricular activities.”
At present, the school has 114 students enrolled in the primary classes and 15 students in the pre-primary classes.
