A team of the Health Department today conducted a raid at the shop of a medicine wholesaler located at fish market in the city.
The team has seized medicines in large quantity. The team has also taken samples of three medicines and sent them for testing to a laboratory.
Drug zonal authority Amit Duggal said an action under the Drug and Pharmacists Act had been taken against the shopkeeper.
Drug inspector Ramandeep said they received a secret tip-off that the shopkeeper was allegedly selling illegal drugs. They raided Suresh Medical Agency and seized medicines, which included 36,000 capsules and 9,000 tablets.
He said these seized medicines were worth Rs 3.25 lakh.
