Bathinda, September 1
Members of the Punjab Hotel Association have written a letter to the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister against Oravel Stays Private Ltd, which owns Oyo Rooms, accusing it of cheating hoteliers and violating tax laws.
In the letter, they have alleged that the company was forcing the hotel owners to book rooms for couples. They said it was an act of promoting prostitution in the locality. They also alleged that the company was not issuing NOC to hoteliers not interested in continuing business with the company.
Satish Arora, president of Punjab Hotel Association, said: “We have written to the Prime Minister; Union Finance Minister; District Collector of Bathinda; Commissioner, Income Tax, Delhi and Commissioner, Income Tax, Gurugram, seeking a probe into illegal collection of GST by Oyo Rooms.” — TNS
