Incidents of cutting the braids of women are flowing in from different parts of the district.
For the first time in all these days, ever since such incidents began to happen, a Sikh youth has alleged that his hair was chopped off by someone, not once but twice in two days.
Devdarshan Singh (26), a resident of Lehra Bega, said yesterday, he washed his hair and was having tea in the kitchen at his house.
As he turned back, he saw a large lump of his hair lying on the kitchen floor, he added. Scared, he ran outside and lost consciousness.
He added that this morning, he was sleeping in his house. He said when he woke up he saw his hair had again been chopped off.
Gurdeep Kaur, a resident of the same village, said she stepped out of her house around 9.30 in the morning when she suddenly fainted.
People rushed towards her to pick her up when they noticed that her braid was chopped off.
In the city, 80-year-old Bhagwani Devi also had a similar tale to tell.
She said she was sleeping in her house at night when she felt something had happened.
As she shrieked in fear, her son Suresh Kumar, grandson Dishant and other family members switched on the lights of the room and saw that her hair was chopped off.
