Renowned Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan enthralled the audience with his popular songs that left the audience spellbound during a cultural evening organised by the Civil Lines Club here yesterday.

Maan, attired in traditional blue and pink dress, made the audience dance to some of his famous numbers like ‘Challa’, ‘Roti’, ‘Cycle’, ‘Mamla Garbad Hai’, ‘Kamli Yaar Di Kamli’ and others.

Known for his unique style of stage performance, Gurdas Mann began the evening with ‘Guru Vandana’ and then went on to sing “Tere ishq da girda painda”, which set the mood for the evening.

While singing “Chhalla” and “Kamli”, he showed his class in traditional music, which was relished by the audience. The song “Mamla gadbad hai” was the highlight of the show with the spectators requesting him to do an encore.

Maan mesmerised the gathering with his traditional style and entertained them with his dance moves during the show.

As soon as Maan arrived on the stage, the audience started cheering and dancing to his tunes. The crowd could be seen cheering, ‘Maan sahib, we love you’, many times during his performance.

A strong dust storm also started blowing in the middle of the function, but Mann continued with his with even the audience refusing to budge from their seats and staying back to enjoy the musical night.

Mitul Jindal, a member of the club, said he was a great fan of Gurdas Mann and it was a great moment to see his performance live. He also added that it was a great event and he enjoyed it a lot.

Another member of the club, Amritpal Singh Ammi, said it was an entertaining event and Gurdas Mann was a legend of Punjabi music industry. “When he sings, your feet automatically sway to the tune of his songs,” he added.

Mayor Balwant Rai Nath was the special guest on the occasion and he presented a shawl as a token of love and appreciation to Gurdas Mann. Nath even uploaded his picture with Gurdas Mann on his Facebook page. Appreciating his performance and personality, the Mayor said it was great meeting the legendary singer.
