Talwandi Sabo, April 1
The NSS unit of Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, and Guru Gobind Singh College of Education organised an expert lecture on AIDS. Dr NS Malhi, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Kashi University, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Narinder Bassi, recipient of the UN AIDS Civil Society award, was the main speaker.
Dr AK Kansal, Dean of the college, welcomed the chief guest, speakers and the audience. During his address, Bassi shared the history of the disease since its inception and discussed the measures to root it out.
His team members Kamal Dutt Sharma and Anupam Pushkar also shared valuable information during the programme. Valuable literature regarding the disease was also distributed on the occasion.
Dr NS Malhi appreciated the information shared by Bassi and his team. He also lauded efforts of Dr Kansal and his team for organising the event.
At the end of the programme, Guru Kashi University honoured the AIDS awareness team. Khushpreet Kaur delivered the vote of thanks.
