DAV National Sports 2017(U-19 Boys Zonal level) today concluded on a high note, which was organised by RB DAV Senior Secondary Public School at the Sports School in Ghudda. Lovepreet Singh from Jalandhar was adjudged the best athlete in the tournment.

Punjab and J&K zone 1 (Jalandhar) bagged gold medals in basketball, football, handball, hockey, kho-kho, table tennis, lawn tennis, volleyball, gymnastics, boxing, judo, shooting, chess, athletics and taekwondo. Silver medals were won by this zone in games like kabaddi, yoga, archery, badminton, swimming and karate.

Punjab zone 2 (Amritsar) won gold medals were in the games like kabaddi, yoga, badminton, swimming and karate. Silver medals bagged by this zone were in the games like basketball, hockey, table tennis, lawn tennis, judo and taekwondo.

Punjab zone 3(Bathinda) won gold medal in archery, silver medal in football and bronze medal in gymnastics and boxing.

Punjab zone 4(Patiala - Ferozpur) won silver medals were won in games like handball, kho-kho, volleyball, gymnastics, shooting, chess, athletics and boxing. Bronze medals won by this zone were in games like basketball and archery. Overall Trophy was won by Punjab and J&K Zone 1(Jalandhar) and the Runner up Trophy was bagged by Punjab Zone 2 (Amritsar).

There are four clusters namely Punjab Zone 1(Jalandhar and Jammu and Kashmir) including 26 schools, Punjab Zone 2 (Amritsar) including 13 schools,Punjab zone 3 (Bathinda) including 12 schools and Punjab Zone 4 (Patiala and Ferozpur ) including 20 schools which participated in this tournament.

Cluster Head (Sports) Pramod Khursija said the two-day mega event was successful and congratulated all the sports officials, students and his Team for their countless endeavors as all shouldered with responsibility.
