IPS officer Mahipal Yadav on Monday assumed the charge as Inspector General, Headquarters, Punjab Frontier, Border Security Force, in Jalandhar.

He is a Kerala-cadre officer of the 1997 batch and has served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) too.

He replaces UP-cadre officer Mukul Goel.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
