Thrown out of house by sons, a 78-year-old man has been forced to take the legal route. Despite the Tribunal and Mansa SDM orders, he is still running from pillar to post to get his property back.

Talking to Bathinda Tribune, KK Jindal, who is at present residing in Ganesha Nagar, said after getting his house registered in their name, his sons ousted him from the house located in Nangal Colony in Mansa in 2015.

Later, he approached the Mansa district administration and also lodged a complaint against his sons over the issue.

Thereafter, the Mansa Deputy Commissioner marked a probe to the SDM.

The SDM, after going through the facts and checking all documents, passed an order stating that under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act 2007, the house should be vacated by his sons and be given back to him, KK Jindal said.

He said the SDM had passed the orders in May 2017 but no action had been taken till date. Later, on September 25, the SDM issued a possession order, but despite this, no action was taken.

Jindal claimed that he demanded a personal hearing from the Mansa Deputy Commissioner, but he was not given time.

Thereafter, he wrote a letter to the state government, the Finance Commissioner, Revenue, MP Singh, and Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi, Additional Chief Principal Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice. He said on November 1, he received a copy of the order in which the state government directed the Bathinda Deputy Commissioner to look into the issue and take further action.
