Bathinda, February 8
The mini rose garden project, which was to be opened in the trans-railway line area, has been hanging fire as the thermal plant management has refused to give its land for this project where the Municipal Corporation Bathinda (MCB) had planned to make it earlier.
Then MC had also many a proposal for setting up the mini Rose garden on a vacant thermal land behind the thermal plant and even it was approved in the general house meeting of the MCB as well last year, but work on this could not start due to getting no approval from the thermal management.
MCB Commissioner Sanyam Aggarwal said work on the mini rose garden had been halted as thermal has refused to give its land, but we are in the process of making new modalities for this and soon work on this new process would also start in the coming days.
It is pertinent to mention that during election local Congress leadership had announced to construct a mini rose garden in trans railway line area and even it also started process of making it but denying for giving its land by thermal has delayed this project as now again also modalities have to be made from starting and search for land for this project in the city will also be a major task from the MCB now.
For the residents of more than 12 wards living in the trans -railway line areas of Paras Ram Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Sanguana Basti, Lal Singh Basti, Sanjay Basti, Amarpura Basti and others, it is just the railway grounds on Thandi Sarak that serves as park and is the sole place for recreation. While the males still have an opportunity to visit the railways grounds area, it becomes difficult for the women to come all the way to the railway grounds for a walk or recreation.
Due to which it was the demand of the residents of trans railway line areas from long time to have more parks in the areas, so that people have do recreational activities as well, this is the reason that congress announced to open mini rose garden but still these residents have to wait more now to get mini rose garden in their area.
