Natyam Theatre Group, Jaito, staged the legendary Punjabi play ‘Mirza Sahiba’ in association with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, at Balwant Gargi Open Air Theatre in Bathinda.

The play, written by late veteran thespian Balwant Gargi, was directed by the group director Kirti Kirpal.

The play showcased how love blossomed between the lead protagonists, the opposition that they faced and how finally Mirza laid down his life for his love.

The play, which was the first to be staged at the renovated open air theatre, was well received by the audience.

The chief guest on the occasion was MC Commissioner Anil Garg while Assistant Commissioner, Muktsar, Gopal Singh was present as the guest of honour. — TNS
