Morphed photo of Ravidas: GTRoad blocked in protest

Members of the Ravidas community today blocked the GT Road outside the DC office in protest against the alleged morphed picture of Sri Ravidas circulated on the Internet, hurting their sentiments.

The protest by the Ravidas community entered into second day as yesterday also, members had stage a protest and took out a protest march outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the city.

The protest march was also taken out today starting from Sri Ravidas Dharmshala, Paras Ram Nagar it reached the Ambedkar Park outside the Mini-Secretariat passing through Sri Ravidas temple in Sanguana Basti, Awa Basti, Guru Nanakpura Mohalla, Sirki Bazaar, Mall road and Hanuman Chowk.

Even residents of Talwandi Sabo, Ganga village, Gidhar village, Nehiawala village, Goniana participated in the protest.

The protestors are alleging that these morphed photographs have been circulated by a youth from Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. Protestors are demanding strict action against the accused person responsible for circulating these photographs. They also stated that till action against the accused is not taken by the police, till then their protest would continue.
