Netball players show their prowess

Players from different states showcased their athletic prowess on the second day of the Junior National Netball Championship, held at Punjab Netball Sports Academy in Maisarkhana village here on Monday.
The Punjab team registered wins in both men and women category. Besides, teams of Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also won matches to advance to the next level.
In the boys’ category, the Haryana team defeated Jammu and Kashmir 23-3. Karnataka defeated Chandigarh 16-13 and the Punjab team defeated Andhra Pradesh 20-4. The Madhya Pradesh team made it look easy against the Jharkhand team, defeating the latter 18-6. The West Bengal team was defeated by the Gujarat team 18-13 and Uttar Pradesh defeated the Maharashtra team 15-12. The West Bengal team dominated throughout the match and defeated Telangana 15-2.
In the girls’ category, the Karnataka team defeated the Orissa team 20-5 and the Punjab team dominated the match against Jammu and Kashmir before winning it 31-1. The Kerala team defeated Tamil Nadu 16-1 and the Chhattishgarh team defeated Chandigarh 16-7.
The Gujarat team defeated Madhya Pradesh 17-4 and Haryana defeated Madhya Pradesh 19-11.
